    National Conference
    ASP organizes the ASP Annual Strategic Planning Conference, which is a multi-day conference featuring practical workshops, noted guest speakers and seminars on the practice of strategic planning. The event is held every year in May.

    Strategic Planning Award
    Every year, ASP presents the Richard Goodman Strategic Planning Award to recognize one or more organizations that have demonstrated excellence in the practice of strategic planning. The winners are announced at the ASP annual conference. Previous winners include Q Logic Corporation and the Federal Aviation Administration.

    ASP traces its history back to the early 1950s to an organization called The National Society for Business Budgeting. During the following four decades, several organizations merged eventually forming The Planning Forum, which became the Strategic Leadership Forum before evolving into ASP.
